things” If there is something that is clear to me, it is that nobody has given me anything, I don't come from a family of photographers from whom I was able to learn, everything was a series of circumstances that have led me to where I am now. I started doing photography because there I found a way to tell things. I spent two whole months without talking to anyone, not my sister, not my friends, not my family... I was dead inside, so photography saved me in those moments, especially when I needed to communicate and I "couldn't". Since then I created a bond with my camera and It has never left me. I would like to think that they are images that make the viewer stop and think because you realize that a link is being established. Each one of my pieces tells a part of my life in a “hidden” way. I don't usually classify the type of photography I do in any field. I think that for anyone who develops creative work, the moment you put a label on it, you are cutting off possibilities. Only a few privileged photographers in the world can live taken photos, but the rest of us mortals have enough to be happy with what we do and spread that happiness to the rest. We have to enjoy the present, not think about the past and think only a little about the future. I enjoy what I do, because maybe one day I will remember it with longing or maybe one day, I just look back and everything seemed like a dream. Meanwhile, I will continue living mine and knowing that when I look back, I will feel super proud of everything I did, because at least I tried. It was a late autumn afternoon, the kind where the sun hurries toward the horizon, leaving the sky streaked with shifting colors and long, soft shadows. I hadn’t planned to come to the Church of Las Salinas. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision, a quiet escape from the noise of everyday life. I parked a short distance away and walked slowly, feeling the rough texture of the ground under my feet and listening to the faint crash of the waves in the distance. The church stood there, quiet and timeless, its worn facade telling stories of another era. Once, its walls must have held the echoes of prayers and songs, but now silence had taken over. It wasn’t an empty silence, though—it was a welcoming one, as if the place invited you to stop, to take a moment, and to listen with more than just your ears. I sat down at the edge of the wooden path, facing the church, letting the cool evening breeze wash over me. My camera rested in my hands, but I wasn’t in a hurry to shoot. I wanted more than just a photo. I wanted to capture what I felt: the vastness of the sky, brushed with soft, fading light, and the quiet weight of the mountains in the distance, standing like guardians of this forgotten corner. As I adjusted the lens, an elderly man walked by, leaning on his cane. He stopped when he saw me, offering a kind smile. “Beautiful place, isn’t it?” he said, his voice steady and warm. I nodded. “This used to be the heart of the salinas,” he continued, gesturing toward the church. “The workers would gather here after their shifts, grateful for what this land gave them. It’s been years now… but it still holds its magic, don’t you think?” I nodded again, wanting to say more but unsure of what words could match the moment. With a small tilt of his head, he turned and continued on his way toward the beach, leaving me with his words—and a strange, bittersweet feeling. As the last of the sunlight faded, leaving a deep purple glow in the sky, I took a few final moments to breathe it all in. The crisp air, the sound of the distant waves, the quiet presence of the church—it all felt like more than a scene. It felt alive, a piece of history lingering in the present. When I finally drove away, I glanced back through the rearview mirror. The church was still there, its silhouette standing firm against the growing night. I couldn’t help but smile. Some places stay with you long after you leave, and I knew this was one of them. I would come back, because places like this don’t just call to you once. They become a part of you. Every road I take, I walk naked, without anything but hope, surrendering every victory I take pride of, telling myself this will be the my last and for the first time, I recognized the pain as it is. You probably knew it by the bruises and wounds, but I knew it throuhg constantly swimming in an ocean that keeps pushing me ashore. How every time I get close, it's as if it's Ipleading anything or anyone but me. I laugh deep down when people compliment me, how it worked for them and not for me. This place confesses every secret I thought I had forgotten, every sin I thought I had forgiven, and every dream I had let go. And I think, for the longest time, this is the first time I became my own company. If you ask me how it is, I would say “perfect”. I had a dream last night that I saw the ocean for the first time. It was early in the morning, just before sunrise. I was by myself, walking down the long stretch of beach that placed me directly in between the vast ocean and the tall cliffs- similar to the ones in this picture. The sand felt soft and almost silk-like between my toes. The ocean was blue and clear and strikingly beautiful. It was the kind of beautiful I knew I had never witnessed before in my life, and so as a result, I felt a little awestruck. I knew I wouldn’t be there long, but the thought that I would soon be leaving didn’t bother me in the slightest. I was just grateful I had the opportunity to be there, even if I didn’t understand why I was there in the first place. PS: This is the place Steven Spielberg chose when he decided to use it as the set for the scene in which the father of Indiana Jones brought down a German plane with his umbrella shooing away a flock of seagulls. Iceland is the place that make meaningful marks in your life. Although their origin remains controversial, it is impossible not to remember Don Quixote and his faithful squire Sancho Panza, who exclaimed: “They are not giants, my Lord!” in one of the best known excerpts of Cervantes’ work. The windmills in my city, Almería, are similar to those in La Mancha. It can be said that the frequent currents of the Campo de Níjar caused the mills to be in charge of grinding the grain in Almería. And this is one of last that were closed in the 70s, becoming part of the landscape of the natural park of Cabo de Gata. This one is Molino de Collado at the Genoveses and it is an example of these magnificent constructions. I want to clarify that this is not a photo taken with a drone. It was taken on the edge of the cliff. The King's Little route is spectacular from beginning to end, running through cliffs, canyons, and a large valley. This humble path runs impossibly along the Desfiladero de Los Gaitanes, an impressive canyon opened by the Guadalhorce river in the limestone and dolomite, with a length of three kilometers. It’s walls reach dizzying heights of 300 meters narrowing to just 10 metres apart in places. The river has carved and eroded fascinating geological formations, caves and chasms. There are over 20 caves of great geological and archaeological significance in the area. El Arrecife de las Sirenas is the gem at the Cabo de Gata Natural Park. They say his name "Mermaids", could be due to the presence of 'monk seals' which sailors mistook sirens.
